Leonard “Lenny” Lesniowski, 71, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Tabernacle, N.J., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md.
Lesniowski was born in Camden, N.J., on Oct. 26, 1946, son of the late Walter Lesniowski and Sophie (Topolski) Lesniowski. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and received his associate’s degree from Temple University.
Lesniowski retired from work as a salesman in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. He was a member of American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro and was also a former member of their executive board and financial committee. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and enjoyed volunteering his time with Toys for Tots. He loved golfing, skiing, fishing, gardening and dancing. He will be remembered as loving brother, uncle, companion and friend.
Lesniowski is survived by a sister, Connie Ziegler and her husband, Tom, of North Fort Myers, Fla.; a brother, Walter Lesniowski of Cherry Hill, N.J.; two nephews, Tom Ziegler Jr., and Erik Ziegler and his wife, Melissa; two nieces, Susan Tarantino and her husband, Rick, and Nadine DiCicco and her husband, Larry; a cousin, Stephen Lesniowski and his wife, Pat, of Check, Va.; his loving companion of three years, Carol A. Goerner of Millsboro; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews; and several other cousins, friends and extended family members.
A visitation and prayer service were scheduled for June 21, 2018, at the Long Neck chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Millsboro, Del. Interment was to be private.
