Rebecca S. “Becky” Munsell, 72, of Dagsboro, Del., formerly of Centreville, Md., and northern Baltimore County, Md., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at home on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018.
Munsell was born in Baltimore, Md., on Oct. 28, 1945, daughter of the late Austin Frederick Schmidt Jr. and the late Gale Junior (McKnight) Schmidt. She was a graduate of Towson High School and also Strayer’s Business School in Baltimore. She and her husband, John, worked together on their farm in Baltimore County.
Munsell was a member of the Women’s Civic Committee of Bethany Beach, Del., and enjoyed golfing, gardening, bowling and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Schmidt. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John S. Munsell Sr.; two children, Sarah Fiedler and her husband, Timothy, of Stewartstown, Pa., and Stuart Munsell of Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren, Jordan Hochberg, Dalton Munsell, Gabriella Munsell, Kayte Fiedler and Jacob Fiedler; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Emma Hochberg.
A celebration of her life was to be held at a later date in Delaware. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Foundation or the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be sent online at www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
