Rebecca J. Everett, 79, of Laurel, Del., passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, March 20, 2017. She was born in Wilmington, Del., on July 2, 1937, to the late Harry Neave and Annie E. Fulton Neave.
Everett was retired from the University of Delaware, where she had worked as a receptionist and telephone operator. After moving to Laurel from Newark, Del., she also worked for Telemon Head Start at various locations across Sussex County.
Everett was a member of Portsville Methodist Church in Bethel, Del., the Red Hat Society and the Laurel Garden Club. Her favorite pastimes included playing cards, gardening, cooking, traveling and dancing. Everett loved spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 59.5 years, Medford L. Everett of Laurel; three daughters, Elizabeth Culver and her husband, Todd, of Greenwood, Del., Laura L. White and her husband, Ken, of Elkton, Md., and Kristi Dobak and her husband, Robert, of Lewes, Del.; a brother, Harry Neave of Wilmington, Del.; two sisters, Ann Louise Foster of Newark and Mary Neave of Wilmington; nine grandchildren, Kristyn Pipher, Brian Pipher, Carli Culver, Kenny White, Kelsey White, Matthias Kellner, Amber Kellner, Michael Dobak and Mason Dobak; and seven great-grandchildren.
