Frank M. ‘Jiggs’ Holloway, 88

Frank M. “Jiggs” Holloway, 88, of Selbyville, Del., died Monday, March 20, 2017, at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Easton, Md. He was born in Selbyville, son of the late Elmer Holloway and Eva (Murray) Holloway.

Holloway had worked for Mumford Sheet Metal Works in Selbyville for 57 years. He joined the Selbyville Volunteer Fire Co. in 1957 and held positions as engineer for more than 25 years and had been fire chief and a delegate to the Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association. He had been an ambulance attendant for the fire company and the American Legion Post 39 over the years. He was a member of the Delaware State Fire Chiefs Association, Sussex County Fire Chiefs Association, Masonic Lodge #30, Evergreen Forest #49, Scottish Rite, American Legion Post 39 for 60 years and a charter member of Nur Temple Shriners. He was also a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, Holloway was preceded in death by his son, Frank M. Holloway II, in 2006. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lois S. Holloway of Selbyville; a daughter, Cheryl H. Powell and her husband, Jeff, of Denton, Md.; two grandchildren, Zachary M. Powell and his wife, Chelsea, and Jacob L. Powell; and a great-grandson, Owen N. Powell.

A funeral service was scheduled for March 25, 2017, at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, Del., with the Rev. Bob Odom officiating. Burial was to be in Bishopville (Md.) Cemetery.
