Robert P. “Bob” Craig Jr., 67, of Georgetown, Del., formerly of Drexel Hill, Pa., passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Feb. 22, 1950, son of the late Robert P. Craig Sr. and Josephine (Schaffer) Craig. He had worked in property maintenance and construction before his illness.
Craig had an amazing sense of humor and a personality that showed kindness and compassion to others. He loved time spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He was a Son of AMVETS Post 22 in Millsboro, Del., an avid reader, a music lover and a friend to animals who enjoyed growing vegetables in his garden. He also was a Philadelphia Eagles fan who enjoyed collecting all kinds of memorabilia of the team. Not only will Craig be remembered for his sense of humor and love of his family but also his ability to overcome so many adversities during his fight with liver and bone cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Karen M. (Fellows) Craig; three children, Robert Craig of Lansdale, Pa., Catherine “Kay” Craig of Buford, Ga., and Danielle Morris and her husband, Sean, of Millsboro; five grandchildren, Dominic Morris, David Rowe, Gavin Comer, Kaleb Morris and Peyton Morris; and his sister, Gretchen Rogers and her husband, George, of Boyertown, Pa.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, Del., where friends and family may visit after noon.
