John E. Sparpaglione, 74, of Dagsboro, Del., died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Del. He was born in Frankford, Del., son of the late Eddie C. Sparpaglione and Margaret E. (Donovan) Sparpaglione.
Sparpaglione served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and had been a grain operator for Townsend and Perdue.
In addition to his parents, Sparpaglione was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Jean F. Sparpaglione of Dagsboro; two brothers, Donald R. Sparpaglione of Denton, Md., and Gilbert M. Sparpaglione of Seaford, Del.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was scheduled for Jan. 5, 2017, at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, Del., with the Rev. Cliff Toomey officiating. Burial will be in Roxana (Del.) Cemetery.
