Harriett J. Williams, 83, of Selbyville, Del., passed away peacefully on Dec. 23, 2016. She was born July 24, 1933, daughter of the late Lonnie Ray Jennings and Lillie Belle Jennings of Elizabeth City, N.C.
Williams was a homemaker while her children were young and later enjoyed working at Seashell City in Fenwick Island, Del., for 36 years, before retiring in 2013 at 80. She enjoyed spending time with her extended Williams family — especially at the beach and other family functions.
In addition to her parents, Williams was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth W. Roughton Sr., in 1959, and her second husband, John J. Williams, in 1992; as well as her daughter Kathryn Townsend, in 2013; and her brother Lonnie Ray Jennings. Williams is survived by her brother, George Jennings; sons, Kenneth W. Roughton Jr. of Selbyville and Eric J. Williams of Fenwick Island; her daughters, Jan R. Turner of Wilmington, N.C., and Debby R. Flood and her husband, Gary, of Laurel, Del.; her grandchildren, Emma and Hilary Roughton, Bethany and Davison Turner, Heather Ruark and her husband, Todd, and Ashley, Erica, Phillip and his wife, Tara, and Perry Townsend; and her great-grandchildren, Austin, Landon, Lauren, Jaelyn, Lance and Ellie.
