Loretta (Parlon) Capuano
Loretta (Parlon) Capuano, 80, died peacefully at home in Millsboro, Del., on Dec. 17, 2016, with family and friends by her side. She was born Feb. 16, 1936, in Washington, D.C., to John and Augusta Parlon.
Capuano graduated from Notre Dame High School in Washington, D.C., and married Anthony Capuano in 1957. In 1960, she founded Loretta’s School of Dance, which enabled her to share her passion and love of dance with many area children. She was an accomplished choreographer, director and costume designer. She worked in many theater groups around the D.C. area, including Montgomery College and Chris Mar Players, and she founded the Muses Rage Theatre Company. Her many talents provided a vehicle for others to shine in theater and the arts.
Capuano was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony, and son, Mark. She is survived by her sons Anthony Capuano and his wife, Marlo, of Sidney, Ohio, and Christopher Capuano and his wife, Marina, of Centerville, Md., and six grandchildren, Vincent, Carlotta, Claire, Cecelia, Olivia and Elizabeth.
Visitation was scheduled for Dec. 20 and Dec. 21, 2016, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Del. A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled for Dec. 22, 2016, at Mary Mother of Peace, with interment following at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, both in Millsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to VITAS Hospice of Delaware. The family thanked Lisa Maglione, Channell Grey and the staff at VITAS Hospice for all their care and dedication.
