Nancy Lenaghan, 83

Nancy Lenaghan, 83, of Dagsboro, Del., formerly of Clifton and Medford, N.J., passed away peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, at her home. She was born in Newark, N.J., on Jan. 18, 1933, daughter of the late Joseph Cahill and Anna (Horrer) Cahill.

Lenaghan served as an administrative assistant for ABC Studios in New York City, then worked as the administrative assistant to the Dean of Business Administration of Montclair State University and retired as the administrative assistant to the school superintendent of the Haddonfield School District in New Jersey.

Lenaghan enjoyed volunteering her time at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, Del., especially helping with the altar linens. She also volunteered her time with Meals-on-Wheels and was part of a mentoring program in the local elementary schools.

Lenaghan enjoyed golfing and traveling extensively throughout the United States and in Europe. Her true love was spending time with her loving husband, children and grandchildren. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Lenaghan is survived by her loving husband of almost 55 years, Robert J. Lenaghan Sr.; a son, Robert J. Lenaghan Jr. of Dagsboro; two daughters, Tricia Hogan and her husband, Ned, of Williamstown, N.J., and Nancy Buck and her husband, Steve, of Chester Springs, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Melanie Hogan, Cal Hogan, Madison Hogan, Alianna Buck, Colby Hogan, Grace Buck and Ryan Buck; a brother, Joseph Cahill and his wife, Pat, of Brick Township, N.J.; and two sisters, Mary Saunderson and her husband, Ray, of Surf City, N.J., and Pat Foster of Evansville, Ill.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 22, 2016, at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, Del., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, Del.
