William G. “Bill” Williams Jr., 75, of Millsboro, Del., passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on May 15, 1941, son of the late William G. Williams Sr. and Margaret (Cromer) Williams.
Williams was retired from Sun Oil Co., where he worked in gaugers, cost and economics, and industrial and wholesale marketing. He worked numerous trade shows and conventions throughout the United States. He also retired from CAI in Alexandria, Va., where he was public information officer, managing the Legal Referral Program.
Williams was also an avid bartender and bar manager. He worked at the Eagle’s Nest and the DeBraak, and also owned and operated a catering business called Party’s Unlimited, all in Lewes, Del. He was second vice-commander of the veterans of AMVETS Post 2 and Post 22. He was host and called bar bingo at both posts for eight years.
In addition to his parents, Williams was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Nancy (Morgan) Williams. He will be greatly missed by his spouse of 21 years, Gary M. Mazur; three children, Michelle A. Williams, Lisa J. Megginson and her husband, Joseph, and Denise M. Gropp and her husband, Jeffrey; his grandson, Joseph E. Megginson and his wife, Corey; his granddaughter, Kelly J. Gonzalez and her husband, Ruben; his great-granddaughter, Rosie Velez; his sisters, Louella “Lou” Brown, and Margaret Blythe-Clark and her husband, James; his cousins, Lillian Haas and Colleen Lewis; a very special friend, Ellen Hyslope; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Tony Urban; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was scheduled for July 27, 2016, at the Long Neck chapel of Melson Funeral Services in Millsboro, Del. Interment will be held privately, at Lawn Croft Cemetery in Linwood, Pa. Condolences may be sent online to www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
