Carroll T. Anderson, 90

Carroll T. Anderson, 90, of Ocean View, Del., passed away peacefully on Oct. 7, 2016.

He was born May 5, 1927, in Washington, D.C., son of the late Guy and Edith Anderson.

He served in the Navy and the Reserves for ten years during and after World War II.

Anderson had a distinguished 40-year career in public service, including 30 years working in the NASA Space Program and at the Department of Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

His passions included fishing, golfing and spending time with family and friends.

Anderson is predeceased by his wife Bernice Anderson of 53 years.

He is survived by his beloved children, Brenda Goddard, Bruce Anderson, Nancy Gonzalez and Darlene Colbert, as well as his seven cherished grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. with visitation at 2 p.m. at Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, Del.

John P. Brown Jr., 85

John P. Brown Jr., 85, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at Christiana Hospital.

Brown was born in Delmar, Del., on July 11, 1931, to the late John P. Brown Sr. and Beulah Adkins Brown.

He worked for many years as a chicken farmer and later retired from M&T Bank, where he worked in the mailroom. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, camping with his family and listening to country music. He had a heart for animals. Brown was a mild-mannered, easygoing, honest and a very family-oriented man. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Brown, in 2004 and a sister, Elsie Moore.

He is survived by three children, Linda Cooper and her husband, Mitch, of Georgetown, Del.; Michael P. Brown and his wife, Andrea, of Frankford, Del., and Edward L. Brown and his wife, Donna of Dagsboro, Del.; as well as a sister, Edna Melvin and her husband, Bill, of Delmar, Del.; six grandchildren, Timothy, Pam, Kim, Sarah, Jonathan and Michael; eight great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Ruby Mason.

A graveside service was scheduled for Oct. 28, 2016, at the Millsboro Cemetery.

Richard F Conti, 81, of Dagsboro, Del., and formerly of Silver Spring, Md., passed away suddenly Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md., surrounded by family and friends.

He was born Oct. 11, 1935, in Portland, Maine, son of the late Francis Conti and Virginia M. (Clancey) Conti.

He was a PGA Golf Pro and retired from Maryland National Park and Planning in 2002.

Conti is survived by his wife of 34 years, Pamela Wright Conti of Dagsboro; daughter, Jennifer Lynn McMullen and husband, Marshall, of Orrtanna, Pa.; daughter by choice, JoAnna Leigh Simpson and husband, Juston, of Indian Head, Md.; six grandchildren, Mattison, Coleby, Alyssa, Samantha, Danielle and Nataleigh; two great-grandchildren, Skyla and Jackson; brother-in-law, Charles Wright and wife, Lauri; sister-in-law, Kay Hall and husband, Warren; a nephew, Timothy Wright and wife, Leah; a great-niece, Elizabeth; and his beloved dogs, Casey and Angel.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Anthony “Tony” Mullis.

A celebration of life was scheduled for Oct. 29, 2016, at Melson’s Funeral Services, Ocean View, Del.

Chester “Marshall” Long, 85

Chester Marshall Long, 85, known as “Marshall,” of Dagsboro, Del., passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born in Dagsboro on Nov. 14, 1930, son of the late Lurena M. Moore and William J. Moore.

Marshall worked for the former Hudson wallpaper and gas company in Millsboro for 15 years. He then went to work for the DuPont Company of Seaford, Del., as a chem lab operator and retired in 1991 after 27 years of service. He was a beekeeper and loved his honeybees. He was a member of the Delaware Bee Association. He had been a member of the Delaware National Guard.

He loved and cared for his family and friends. Long enjoyed boating, restoring antique furniture, refrigeration and air conditioning and traveling. He was a great handyman who loved to fix things and tinker to make things work for his friends, neighbors and the churches he attended. He attended Dagsboro Gospel Fellowship Church.

Long was instrumental in reopening the former Church of the Open Door which was re-organized and named Bethel Tabernacle Church in Frankford, Del.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, D. Christine Long; two daughters, Yvonne C. Rickards and her husband, F. Frank Rickards, of Dagsboro, and Marsha Lynn Phillips and her husband, C.R. Phillips II, of Dagsboro; three grandchildren, Melanie J. Rickards, Maria Rickards Wilson and her husband, Bryant Keith Wilson, and Renee Christine Phillips, all of Dagsboro; a brother-in-law and wife, Earl and Mary Robinson; one nephew, Clayton E. Robinson of Salisbury, Md.; and many cousins and friends.

Special thanks to all the nurses of Compassionate Care and his private caregivers, Felicia, Theresa and She’don.

A visitation was scheduled for Nov. 2, 2016, with funeral service on Nov. 3, at Melson Funeral Services, Frankford, Del. Interment will follow at Prince George’s Cemetery in Dagsboro, Del.

James G Motter, 52

James G Motter, 52, of Selbyville, Del., passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at home. He was born on April 1, 1964, son of the late Marlin and Margaret (Gipe) Motter.

Motter was a graduate of Big Spring High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, after which he was honorably discharged. He was a Master Carpenter, honing his natural talents and abilities throughout his life, and he was an avid fan and supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a devoted fiancé, step-dad, brother and friend, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know him.

In addition to his parents, Motter was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Motter.

He is survived by his fiancée, Deborah Gordon; his stepchildren, Devon and LeAnn Gordon of Selbyville, Del., Corynne Rutz and husband, Aaron, of Boiling Springs, Pa., and Cody Romberger and wife, Makayla, of Carlisle, Pa.; his brothers, Marlin H. Motter Jr. and wife, Stacey, of Newville, Pa., David Motter of Shippensburg, Pa., Mitchell Motter and wife, Janet, of Carlisle, Pa., and Raymond Motter of Lancaster, Pa.; his sisters, Judy Kann of Shippensburg, Pa., Debra Kail of Carlisle, Pa., and Diane Breya of Lewistown, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Watson-Yates Funeral Home and Crematorium, a Parsell Family Funeral Home, Seaford, Del.

Sally Ann Rogers, 101

Sally Ann Rogers, 101, of Georgetown, Del., passed away on Oct. 31, 2016. She was born April 14, 1915.

Rogers was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill; her brother, George; and her sisters, Verda and Evelyn. She has eight children, Jack, Richard, Merrill, Shirley, Sharon, Donnie, Sally, and Nancy, and many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

When her husband passed away, Rogers went to work at the Stockley Center and retired from there. Once retired, she came to do what everyone remembers her for: restoring antiques, going to yard sales and hosting yard sales. She will be missed. Like so many, she learned to roll with the punches; and on Oct. 31, she laid her gloves down and went to meet her Maker.

A viewing and short service were scheduled for Nov. 3, 2016, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Del. Burial will follow at the Henlopen Memorial Park, 28787 Lockerman Road, Milton, Del.

Robert J. “Bob” Strawser, 69

Robert J. “Bob” Strawser, 69, of Selbyville, Del., died Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. He was born in Hummelstown, Pa., son of the late Robert F. Strawser and Mildred (St.) Solada.

He retired from Bethlehem Steel, where he was a motor inspector for 33 years. Prior to retiring to the beach, Strawser and his wife, JoAnn, created many wonderful memories square-dancing, holding hands while walking through the streets of Hummelstown and attending their children’s and grandchildren’s many activities. After moving to Delaware in 2004, Strawser was an active member of St. Matthews by-the-Sea United Methodist Church and was involved with the United Methodist Men. He was also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and Delaware Hospice. Staweser was a Godly man who was deeply devoted to his family.

He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 49 years, JoAnn Potteiger Strawser of Selbyville; a son, Robert D. Strawser and wife, Linda, of Grantville, Pa.; a daughter, Dr. Bobbi J. Barends and husband, Andrew, of Selbyville; five grandchildren, Jacob, Elijah, Kennedy, Lindsay and Corie; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mildred R. Strawser, and a stepfather, Elwood J. Solada.

A celebration of life was scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at St. Matthew’s by-the-Sea United Methodist Church, Fenwick Island, Del.

Michael G. Zonko, 70

Michael G. Zonko, 70, of Milton, Del., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on Sept. 12, 1946.

Zonko was a U.S. Navy veteran, after which, he began work at Delaware Department of Transportation as an equipment operator. He retired in 2008. He was a member of Moose Lodge 646. Zonko was a happy-go-lucky, good-natured, caring and lovable man. He loved kids and animals. He adored his canine companion, Abby. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Zonko is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, and her two children, Matt Johnson and his wife, Melody, and Pam Conaway and her companion, Lorenzo West; two grandchildren, Justin Johnson and Cody Kidwell; a brother, Charles and his wife, Bonnie; two nephews, Michael and Jeffrey Zonko; an uncle, Earl Lingo with his wife, Doris Ann, of Georgetown, Del.; and an aunt, Doris Williamson of Nanticoke, Md. His mother, Kathryn Lingo Zonko, preceded him in death.

A memorial service was scheduled for Nov. 2, 2016, at the Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Del. Inurnment with military honors followed at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.

Paola Errigo, 90, of Selbyville, Del. formerly of Ocean View, Del. passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016.

Errigo was born in Archi, Reggio Calabria, Italy, on Aug. 19, 1926. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 2014. She is survived by three children, Josephine Tilli and spouse, Giovanni, of Olney, Md., Dean Errigo and spouse, Maurya, of Charleston, S.C., and Joanne Marino and spouse, Fedele, of Selbyville; a sister, Victoria; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled for Nov. 4, 2016, at Melson Funeral Services, Ocean View, Del. with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Bethany Beach, Del., and entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Dagsboro, Del.

Jonathan “Jon” E. Emrick, 89

Jonathan “Jon” E. Emrick, 89, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Camp Springs, Md., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at his home.

He was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio, on Dec. 28, 1926, son of the late Ernest Clay and Norma (Hemmert) Emrick. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and graduated from Ohio Northern University.

Emrick retired as a civil servant for the federal government with over 30 years of service. He was an active member of the Mason Dixon VFW Post 7234 in Ocean View, Del.; a member of the Men’s Club at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, Del.; past president of the Sussex County Chapter of NARFE; past member of the Knights of Columbus in Forestville, Md.; and past president of the Association of Naval Weapons Engineering & Scientists. He loved golfing, woodworking and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard D. Emrick and James W. Emrick, and a son-in-law, John A. Renfroe III. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary Jane (Kah) Emrick; five children, Rebecca S. Renfroe of Mansfield, Texas, Stephen D. Emrick and his wife, Donna Marie, of Virginia Beach, Va., Elizabeth E. Martin and her husband, Thomas, of Ocean View, Mary Kathryn Buckey and her husband, Charles H. III, of Waldorf, Md., and Michael J. Emrick and his wife. Joan. of Ocean View; 11 grandchildren, John, James, Christina, Ashley, Jeffrey, Lindsay, Jonathan, Rebecca, Charles, Nicole and Amanda; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, Del., with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, Del. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, Del.

Luisa C. Harmon, 76

Luisa C. Harmon, 76, of Georgetown, Del., passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016.

Harmon was born on May 5, 1940, in Inarajan, Guam, to the late Felix and Maria Crisostomo Cruz. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by six siblings, Eliza Quinata, Rosa Taitague, Jose Cruz, Juan Cruz, Jesus Cruz and Vicente Cruz.

She met the love of her life, Joseph Harmon, who was serving in the U.S. Navy at the time, and the two were married on June 19, 1965, in Tamuning, Guam. He was working at the Andersen Air Force Base air terminal, and she worked at the Base Exchange in the terminal. She spent 23 years as a Navy wife, moving every three years with her family. They returned to Delaware in 1985 and decided to make Georgetown their home.

Harmon worked at a local bank as a loan processor in Millsboro, Del., before deciding to retire and help with her grandchildren. She was a member and Parishioner of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Guam Society of America. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was mild-mannered, loved her family and travel, and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed cooking, and many of her friends and family loved her Chamorro cooking. Harmon opened her home to nieces and nephews and other family members when needed.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joseph P. Harmon of Georgetown; four children, Felix C. Harmon and his wife, Marlene, of Millsboro, Fedora Baquer of Woodbridge, Va., Gregory Harmon of Crofton, Md., and Joseph C. Harmon and his wife, Courtenay, of Ft. Collins, Colo.; six wonderful grandchildren, Bryan, Ashleigh, Zoe, Bodhi, Cruz and Travis; three sisters, Maria Concepion of Guam, Ana San Nicolas of California and Carmen Diego of Washington; and a brother, Pedro Cruz of Guam.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 3 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Monday, Nov. 14 at Mary, Mother of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 30839 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way in Millsboro.

Nancy Rilla Hudson, 76

Nancy Rilla Hudson, 76, of Millsboro, Del., went to be with the Lord and passed away on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, after an extended battle with cancer. She was born to the late Lester C. and Rilla G. Seyler in Carroll Township, Pa., on Jan 9, 1940.

Hudson graduated from Bald Eagle-Nittany High School in 1958 then went to Eastern Pilgrim College for three years before marrying Charles C. Hudson Jr. and starting her family in Delaware. While raising her four boys and working at Stockley Center of Millsboro. Hudson went back to Wilmington College and received her bachelor’s degree in behavior science in 1994. She retired as a case manager after 26 years.

She was also known to be a great wife, mom and “Mom Mom.” Hudson is a lifelong member at the Journey Church (Millsboro Wesleyan), where she played piano/organ, taught Sunday School and volunteered just about anywhere she was needed.

She baked many beautiful wedding cakes and frequently never charged a dime. She was known to be a great cook and could cook just about anything. Her hospitality and love towards others was so great that many people, not just her family still call her “Mom” today. She met most people through their stomach and she found her way in to their hearts.

Hudson was married to Charles C. Hudson Jr. on Nov. 21, 1964. She is survived by their four boys, Charles C. Hudson III and his wife, Sandra Hudson, Eugene A. Hudson and his wife, Carol Hudson, Rodney Scott Hudson and his wife, Lori Hudson, and Paul K. Hudson, all of Millsboro, Del.; nine grandchildren, Renee, Shannon, Samantha, Christopher, Danielle, Lilly, Taylor, Ryan and Meghan; three great-grandsons, Niles, Roland and Beau; her brother, George Seyler and his wife, Mary Seyler; her sister, Nellie Lucas; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers-in-law, Mark Lucas and Paul Hudson.

Services will be held Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, with visitation at noon and service at 1 p.m. at the Journey Wesleyan Church, 255 Wilson Highway, Millsboro, Del. Burial will be private.

Daniel B. Lyons III

Daniel B. Lyons III of Bethany Beach, Del., formerly of Queenstown, Md., passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016.

Lyons grew up in Silver Spring, Md. He attended Montgomery Blair High School, graduating in 1949. He was a member of the ROTC and attended the University of Maryland, graduating in 1954 with a bachelor’s degree in transportation. Upon graduation, he entered the U.S. Air Force as an officer and used the skills he learned in school, becoming the transportation officer at the Orlando Air Force Base.

Lyons continued in the transportation industry in the private sector and became a very knowledgeable and successful businessman within the moving and storage industry. He worked with a number of corporations before becoming a partner in his own venture, Southland Container. Lyons loved to work and continued working as a consultant into his late 70s.

While attending college at the University of Maryland, Lyons became very interested in the volunteer fire service and cultivated that passion to date, serving with the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company.

In addition to his passion for work and the fire department, he also found time to be active with other organizations, such as the Elks Lodge, and serve on boards for the Fort Miles Association and the Oyster Recovery Partnership for Chesapeake Bay. He was also a faithful member of Mariners Bethel UMC.

Lyons was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Jr. and Louise (Quinlan) Lyons; a sister, Sally Bland; and his son, Daniel B. Lyons IV.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret “Peg” (Crawford) Lyons; a daughter, Kathy Lyons and her husband, John Eckrich, of Bethany Beach; two grandchildren, Matt and Maggie Eckrich; and three great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Emsley and Quinnlen Crater.

Services were scheduled for Nov. 10, 2016, at Mariners Bethel UMC, Ocean View, Del., Burial will be held privately at Hopewell UMC Cemetery, Downingtown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Beach Vol. Fire Co. or to Mariners Bethel UMC Momentum Campaign.

Theodore “Ted” L. Russiano, 81

Theodore “Ted” L. Russiano, 81, of Georgetown, Del., formerly of Allentown, Pa., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at the Seasons Hospice Inpatient at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del.

Russiano was born June 2, 1935, in Allentown, Pa., son of the late Samuel and Althea (Ziegler) Russiano. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He had the honor of serving 23 years as a district magistrate for the Pennsylvania Judicial System.

After he and his wife retired to Delaware, he enjoyed surf fishing and freshwater fishing. He enjoyed the “simple things” in life, such as spending time with family and watching his favorite baseball and football teams. Russiano was a volunteer for the cardiac rehab at Beebe Healthcare hospital in Lewes, Del., and he helped create the First Town Chapter #344 of Mended Hearts in Lewes. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather that had a wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David M. Russiano, in 1999. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia J. (Graham) Russiano; a son, Craig Russiano and his wife, Wendi, of Zionsville, Pa.; two grandsons, Nathan Russiano and Jessica Shade of Alburtis, Pa., and Hunter Russiano of Zionsville; a great-granddaughter, Brookelynn Russiano; a brother, David S. Russiano and his wife, Pat, of Alburtis; a sister, Rita Peacock of Texas; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service was scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at Melson Funeral Services, Millsboro, Del.

A second funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Stephens Funeral Home Inc., 274 Krocks Road, Allentown, Pa., where friends and family may call after 9 a.m. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown, Pa.

Donald Alan Wagner Sr., 84, affectionately known as “Pop-Pop,” 84, of Lewes, Del., passed away on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at Christiana Care Health System, in Newark, Del. He was born Sunday, April 24, 1932, in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Walter L. and Lydia C. (Zoll) Wagner.

He was a 1950 graduate of Lansdowne (Pa.) High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he honorably served his country during the Korean War aboard the USS Diamondhead. Following his service, Wagner served the community of East Lansdowne as a police officer. Wagner worked for several years at General Electric and Farrell’s Plumbing & Heating before settling at Burnham Corporation. He retired from Burnham as a regional sales manager after 40 dedicated years.

After marrying the love of his life, Christine, in 1952, they and his in-laws founded Boatel Boat Storage and New Happy Holiday Boat Sales in Lewes. Today, he was proud to see the iconic Boatel be home to the next family business, 2 Dips Ice Cream, as well as a place where he could display his many museum collections and share his countless stories and experiences.

In his free time, Wagner loved collecting memorabilia for his museum and writing poetry, of which he had five books published. He also was an active volunteer at Beebe Healthcare for 18 years and a member of the Lewes Men’s Chorus, the Fraternal Order of Police, the Cub and Boy Scouts of America and the National Kidney Foundation.

More than anything, Wagner loved his time spent with his family. His many stories, positive attitude and zest for life will be cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Wagner was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Christine Wagner, and his one brother, Richard Wagner. He is survived by his two sons, Donald A. Wagner Jr. and his wife, Lora, of Milton, Del., and Carl L. Wagner and his wife, Mandy, of Lewes; his four grandchildren, Jan Marie Turansky and her husband, JP, Chelsey Lynn Wagner and her significant other, Ryan Wharton, CJ Stephens and Robbie Stephens; and his two great-grandchildren, Talon and Joelle.

Friends may visit with the family to pay tribute on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, Del.

A celebration of life reception will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. with a service of remembrance at 3 p.m. at the Lewes Fire Department Station #2, 32198 Janice Road, Lewes, Del.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

Jean Ann Chandler, 74, of Pittsville, Md., passed away on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016. She was born in Selbyville, Del., to the late Earl Wells Sr. and Mildred Smith Wells.

Chandler was a self-employed poultry farmer. She enjoyed shopping, taking cruises, eating, traveling, playing games, gardening, cooking and family dinners. Her door was always open, and she would usually have plenty to eat for whoever might stop by. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Chandler was preceded in death by her first husband, George E. Banks Sr., in 1971; a stepson, James Chandler; and two sisters, Mildred Stevenson and Juanita Davis. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Stanley “Freddie” Chandler, of Pittsville, Md.; five children, Teresa Wilkerson and her husband, John, of Horntown, Va., George Banks Jr. and his wife, Kimberly, of Willards, Md., Brenda Hill of Fruitland, Md., Barbara Banks and her fiancé, Scott Fleming, of Pittsville, Md., and Donnie Seaton and his wife, Ashlyn, of Delmar, Md.; four stepchildren, Dennis Chandler of Willards, Md., Jeff Chandler of Pittsville, Md., Steve Chandler of Pittsville, Md., and Bryan Chandler and his wife, Tonya, of Parsonsburg, Md.; a brother, Earl Wells Jr., and his wife, Maryjane, of Princess Anne, Md.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her canine friend Sparky, and her cats.

A funeral service was scheduled for Nov. 12, 2016, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Del., with burial will follow in the Dagsboro’s Redmen Memorial Cemetery. Daniel B. Lyons III, 85

Daniel B. Lyons III, 85, of Bethany Beach, Del., formerly of Queenstown, Md., passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016.

Lyons grew up in Silver Spring, Md. He attended Montgomery Blair High School, graduating in 1949. He was a member of the ROTC and attended the University of Maryland, graduating in 1954 with a bachelor’s degree in transportation. Upon graduation, he entered the U.S. Air Force as an officer and used the skills he learned in school, becoming the transportation officer at the Orlando Air Force Base.

Lyons continued his work in the transportation industry in the private sector and became a very knowledgeable and successful businessman within the moving and storage industry. He worked with a number of corporations before becoming a partner in his own venture, Southland Container. Lyons loved to work and continued working as a consultant into his late 70s.

While attending college at the University of Maryland, Lyons became very interested in the volunteer fire service and cultivated that passion from that point forward, serving with the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company.

In addition to his passion for work and the fire department, he also found time to be active with other organizations, such as the Elks Lodge, and serve on boards for the Fort Miles Association and the Oyster Recovery Partnership for Chesapeake Bay. He was also a faithful member of Mariners Bethel United Methodist Church.

Lyons was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel B. Lyons Jr. and Louise (Quinlan) Lyons; a sister, Sally Bland; and his son, Daniel B. Lyons IV. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret “Peg” (Crawford) Lyons; a daughter, Kathy Lyons, and her husband, John Eckrich, of Bethany Beach; two grandchildren, Matt and Maggie Eckrich; and three great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Emsley and Quinnlen Crater.

Services were scheduled for Nov. 10, 2016, at Mariners Bethel UMC, Ocean View, Del., Burial will be held privately at Hopewell UMC Cemetery, Downingtown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Beach Vol. Fire Co. or to Mariners Bethel UMC Momentum Campaign. David N. Reinohl, 87

David N. Reinohl, 87, of Dagsboro, Del., formerly of Annapolis, Md., passed away on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at Delmar Manor in Delmar, Md. Reinohl was born in Hyattsville, Md., on June 17, 1929, son of the late William Parker Reinohl and Grace Mary (Naumann) Reinohl.

Reinohl proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from the federal government as a photographer foreman for the Army Map Service (Defense Mapping Agency).

Reinohl enjoyed the outdoors in all aspects, from hunting, fishing and boating to just simply walking and enjoying nature. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Reinohl was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Robbins. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joann J. (Nazit) Reinohl; two children, Connie Collins and her husband, David, of Bishopville, Md., and William Reinohl and his wife, Jocelyn, of Georgetown, Del.; four grandchildren, Christopher Daniel of Bishopville, Md., Elizabeth Hanson and her husband, Richard, of Edgewater, Md., Aaren Hayman and her husband, J.R., of Florida and Jessica Collins and her companion, Michael Ellingsworth, of Ocean City, Md.; and four great-grandchildren, Richard Edwin Hanson IV, Clara Collins-Ellingsworth, Kennedy Hayman and Korie Hayman.

A prayer service will be held Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the chapel at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, Del. Doris I. Revel, 84

Doris I. Revel, 84, of Millsboro, Del., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born July 27, 1932, in Gumboro, Del., to the late Lee and Marry Elizabeth Baker.

She retired from work with the State of Delaware, working as a cook at the Stockley Center. She was a member of The Journey (Millsboro Wesleyan Church) and also attended Shiloh United Methodist Church and Blackwater Fellowship. She was a prayer warrior and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Revel enjoyed traveling and was always on the go. She also liked gardening, family gatherings and spoiling her “grand-dogs.” Her Christmas fudge will be missed this year by many. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Revel was also preceded in death by her husband James A. Revel Sr.; her siblings, Margaret, Madaline, Sarah, Clifford, Chester, Calvin, Charles and Linwood; and a grandson, Bryan. She is survived by two sons, James Revel Jr. and his wife, Cathy, of Millsboro and Matthew Revel and his wife, Gail, of Delmar, Md.; a daughter, Vikki Revel Saltsman and her husband, Kem, of Blairsville, Pa.; two sisters-in-law, Joan Baker and Helen Faye Pepper; four grandchildren, Cody and his wife, Ashley, Cole, Jessica and her fiancé, Terry, and Brandon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service was scheduled for Nov. 15, 2016, at Carey’s Cemetery in Millsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions to a favorite charity. Condolences may be sent online at www.watsonfh.com.
