William J. “Jimmy” Saunders, 59, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2016, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Del., surrounded by family and friends. Saunders was the son of Bessie Saunders and the late Lloyd Saunders, with whom he has been reunited in heaven.
Saunders was self-employed for most of his life, either in the flooring or roofing business. He loved to spend time with family and friends. Saunders was the ultimate son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He put the needs of others in front of his own; everyone could count on him. Although always in a good mood, he was happiest out on the water.
In addition to his mother, Saunders is survived by the love of his life, Phyllis Saunders; his children, Holly Garay, Rebecca Fisher and Bryan Jones; five grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters; a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends; and Sadie, Norton and Keno.
A celebration of Saunders’ life will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2016, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Irish Eyes in Lewes, Del.
