Christopher Burton Walls, 33, born on Feb. 10, 1983, and raised in Lewes, Del., passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at his home on Gills Neck Road. Walls had fought a long battle of drug addiction and lost his last fight to heroin. His family, who loved him dearly, surrounded him.
Walls, the youngest of six children, was always the free entertainment in the family. Back in the day, he could be found watching and dancing to the movie/song “Footloose.” He was the master at charades. He loved his trucks. He loved his nieces and nephews. He loved his family. He loved to be on the water. During his downtime, he was often found on the beach or out on the boat, fishing.
Walls graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, Del. For the last few years, he was an employee of the Surfing Crab. During his leisure time, he also loved to work in his mother’s garden and tend to her flowers and pond.
Walls is survived by his parents, Irving and Linda Walls; his paternal grandmother, Frances Walls; his three sisters, Dana Orton, Marci Engel and Kerri Layton; his two brothers, Irving Walls IV and Marc Green; his three brothers-in-law, Rob Orton, Tommy Engel and Troy Reese; his five nephews, Connor and Kyle Orton, Hunter Engel, R.T. and L.J. Reese; his three nieces, Sydney Green, Madyson Engel and Taylor Johnson; his girlfriend, Michelle Gray and his two dogs, Dixie and Ryder. He will be truly missed by all.
Walls’ family asked that those with family members who are fighting drug addiction be supportive and do everything possible to help guide them to rehabilitation before it’s too late. “This is a terrible disease that affects many families. Do not be ashamed. Be supportive!”
A celebration Walls’ life was scheduled for June 10, 2016, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, Del. Interment was to be private. Flowers are welcomed.
