Janice Marie ‘Jan’ (Friedel) McWilliams, 84

Janice Marie “Jan” (Friedel) McWilliams, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. She was born in Bridgeville, Del., raised in Seaford and lived in Newark before retiring to Dagsboro. Her family was her dearest love. She married and is survived by Marvel C. “Mac” McWilliams, her hometown sweetheart.

McWilliams was known as a wonderful watercolor artist and a founding member of the Bethany Beach Watercolor Society. She participated in the group for many years and was particularly known for her illustrative flowers, waterfront and beach scenes. McWilliams was exceptionally creative and talented in cooking, baking and gardening and as a seamstress. She often shared her talents with others through volunteer work.

In addition to her husband, Marvel C. “Mac” McWilliams, she is survived by three children, Dana C. McWilliams and his wife, Lisa, Dawn M. Loch and her husband, Bill, and Debra A. Kircher and her husband, Paul; grandchildren Brett M. McWilliams and his wife, Amy, Matt M. Kircher and his wife, Sequoia, Tucker R. Kircher and Joseph C. Loch; great-grandchildren Liam and Harvey McWilliams, and Greyson and Juniper Kircher.

Family and friends were invited to celebrate her life on June 13, 2016, at Melson Funeral Services in Ocean View, Del.
