Victor Angelo “Vic” DeGeorge Sr., 87, of Bethany Beach, Del., formerly of Washington, D.C., passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del.
DeGeorge was born in Washington, graduated from Eastern High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He also retired from C&P and AT&T Telephone Company and had moved to Bethany Beach about 17 years ago.
DeGeorge loved his family and giving back to his community. He was very active at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, where he had served as an altar server, sung in the choir and was the past treasurer of the Men’s Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret Ann DeGeorge; a son, Victor Andrew DeGeorge of Bethany Beach; a daughter, Mary Regina DeGeorge of Laurel, Md.; a grandson, Victor Angelo DeGeroge II of Bethany Beach; a brother, Frank DeGeorge of Annapolis, Md.; and a sister, Louise Alleva of Florida.
A visitation was scheduled for June 14, 2016, at Melson Funeral Services in Ocean View, Del. A Mass of Christian Burial was planned June 15 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Bethany Beach, with interment at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
