Sherly A. DeMott, 88, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Del. He was born in Chatham, Va., on Nov. 15, 1927, son of the late Bennie DeMott and Gladys (Giles) DeMott.
DeMott proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was a retired farmer and school bus driver. He was also a member of Frankford United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice C. DeMott, in 2010. He is survived by two sons, Bennie I. DeMott and his wife, Karen, of Montana and Brian A. DeMott and his wife, Colleen, of Seaford; a daughter, Diane Gray and her husband, Ronnie, of Frankford, Del.; nine grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and a great-grandson.
A funeral service was scheduled for May 24, 2016, at Melson Funeral Services, with interment Carey’s Cemetery, both in Frankford, Del.
