Edward J. “Ed” Gossett Sr., 70, of Selbyville, Del., died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. Gossett was born in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Chester Perry Gossett and Catherine Rita (Mank) Gossett.
Gossett retired from work for Perdue Farms as a refrigeration mechanic. He was a member of the Sound United Methodist Church in Williamsville, Del., and member of American Legion Post 24 for more than 30 years. He also served in the U.S. Navy.
Gossett is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara F. Gossett of Selbyville; two sons, Edward J. Gossett Jr. and his wife, Sheena, of Lewes, Del., and William A. Gossett and his wife, Belle, of Baltimore, Md.; two grandsons, Charles Edward Gossett and Samuel Elijah Gossett; two stepmothers, Gert Gossett and Fran Gossett; two stepbrothers, Charles Lassiter and Richard Lassiter; and a stepsister, Clara Morgan.
A chapel service was scheduled for May 24, 2017, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sound U.M.
