Margaret Ellen Massey, also known as “Sis,” departed her life on March 24, 2017, at the age of 85, in her home in Frankford, Del.
In her younger days, Massey did a lot of fieldwork, working for Bob Gray and Ellen McGee. She was also employed at Bunting’s Nursery, Budget Inn and Hampton Inn until she retired at 65 in 1997.
Massey enjoyed watching “Let’s Make A Deal,” “The Price Is Right” and her soap operas, “The Young & the Restless” and “The Bold & the Beautiful.” She loved listening to R&B music, with songs by Tyrese, Anthony Hamilton and Sam Cooke.
Massey was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Margaret Massey; a brother, Willie Massey; and a sister, Virginia Massey. She leaves behind to cherish her memories a daughter, Marie Hodges, and her husband, Joe, of Berlin, Md.; a grandson, Maurice Massey, and his wife, Geraldine, of Frankford; a great-granddaughter, Chikira Massey of Dover, Del.; three sisters, Betty Ann Smith and her husband, Harvey, of Berlin, Graice May Massey of Selbyville, Del., and Barbara Jean Massey and her husband, Rick, of Snow Hill, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
