Nomeersar Singh, 81, of Millsboro, Del., passed away, surrounded by his loved ones, on Monday, March 27, 2017. He was born in Georgetown, Guyana, on Sept. 4, 1935, to the late Mahase and Sookrajie Singh.
He began working at the age of 13 in Guyana. He immigrated to the United States on July 31, 1981. Singh worked for Perdue Inc. for 25 years as a janitor. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, including his daughter, who lived in Laurel, Del., his eldest son, who lived in England and then Florida, and his youngest son, who lived in Canada. He also visited France and Holland. He loved to spend his evenings in his garden or watching cricket and Westerns. He was a jester and loved to give everyone their own nickname.
In addition to his parents, Singh was preceded in death by his older brother, Komal Singh. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Chandrakumarie Singh; his four brothers, Arjune and his wife, Jennifer, Bharrat and his wife, Gomatie, Bheem, and Neal and his wife, Shanta; his three sisters, Chan, Pran and Sabo; his sons, Tage and his wife, Radica, Balram and his wife, Baby, and Lailey and his wife, Sanie; his daughter and son-in-law, Liz and Richard; his grandchildren, Ashana, Amanda and her husband, Vishnu, Nicole, Melissa, Savita, Andrew, Ryan, Julie and Dhillon; and two great-grandsons, Kenneth and Daniel.
A viewing scheduled for March 31, 2017, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Del., with funeral on April 1.
