Susan Ann Chadwick, 66, of Millville, Del., passed away at home on Friday, March 17, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, on March 17, 1951, to the late William C. Bond and Rose E. (Wallen) Bond.
A 1969 graduate of Milford High School in Milford, Del., she began her career as advertising manager at the Milford Chronicle. On Sept. 9, 1973, she married Michael Chadwick, and they settled in Rehoboth Beach, Del. In 1988, she began working at the Summer Place Resort, a timeshare resort in Bethany Beach, Del., where she worked as resort manager until her death.
Chadwick was very artistic and decorated her life and home with the people and surroundings she loved the most: her husband, daughter, grandsons, family, friends and pets. In the early 1980s, Chadwick created, designed and made plush dolls and bears through her business, Susan & Friends. They were sold for a brief period at Bloomingdale’s.
Chadwick was preceded in death by her parents and her elder brother, Roger Bond. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Michael; a daughter, Meredith Chadwick, and two grandsons, Gavin and Cameron Munson of Millville; two sisters, Theresa Bond of Denton, Md., Kay DuVan of Camp Verde, Ariz.; and two brothers, Leonard Bond of St. Pete, Fla., William Bond and his wife, Alice, of Bear, Del.; as well as her best friend forever (BFF), Maureen “Moe” Grimes and her husband, Richard, of Millville; and many others, whom she loved and was loved by, including her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and their children.
In honor of Chadwick, the family asked those who knew and loved her to perform a random act of kindness, such as helping a child or animal in need.” Do something for someone who could never repay you. This is how she lived her life.”
A celebration of her life was to be announced at a later date. Condolences may be sent online through Pippin Funeral Home at pippinfuneralhome.com.
