Charlotte Nash Etchison, 89, died peacefully, in her home, on Oct. 20, 2016. She was born to Norris Vernon Nash and Beulah Carr Nash on March 12, 1927, in Baltimore, Md.
Etchison graduated from the Church Home & Hospital, School of Nursing, in 1947 in Baltimore. She worked in many area hospitals and retired from the American Red Cross in 1986.
In addition to her parents, Etchison was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Carville Lee Etchison Sr.; a grandson, Matthew Etchison; and a sister, Ida Jean Johnson. Etchison leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Diana McGrath and her husband, Timothy; a son, Carville Lee Etchison Jr. and his wife, Nancy; four grandchildren, Carla Bengtson, Caroline McGrath, Victoria Hawkins and Andrew Etchison; eight great-grandchildren who will dearly miss their “Grandmama”; and dear friends from Ocean View Presbyterian Church in Ocean View, Del., and Bethany Presbyterian Church in Zuni, Va., all of whom she dearly loved.
A celebration of Etchison’s life was scheduled for Oct. 26, 2016, at Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Chesapeake, Va. She will be laid to rest privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Del.
