Reese H. Hickman, 87, of Selbyville, Del., passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at Brandywine Assisted Living at Fenwick Island in West Fenwick, Del., surrounded by his family. He was born April 27, 1929, in Roxana, Del., son of the late Frank E. Hickman and Delia K. (Shockley) Hickman.
Hickman was a graduate of Selbyville High School. He was owner of Hickman Masonry for many years. Hickman was a high member of the Elks organization. He was past exalted ruler of Selbyville Lodge #2173; past state president of the Maryland, Delaware & District of Columbia Elks Association; and past grand treasurer of Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks (BPOE).
In addition to his parents, Hickman was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry, Frank, Selby, Ester, Donald, Elbert, Ranzo, Henry, Veldora and Belinda, and his loving wife, Odetta I. Hickman. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Anna Hickman; several nieces and nephews; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many dear friends.
Hickman knew how to make people smile, and for that his family will always be grateful.
A visitation and Elks service were to be held Aug. 29, 2016, with a funeral on Aug. 30, 2016, all at Melson Funeral Services in Frankford, Del. Interment was to be in Roxana (Del.) Cemetery.
