Robert Vincent “Bob” Adair, 84, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Bucks County, Pa., and New Castle, Del., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at his home.
Adair was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on June 27, 1932, son of the late John Adair and Anna (Kowalski) Adair. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the United States Army. He retired from DuPont as a printing technician. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and woodworking. He was also a member of Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church in Millsboro.
Adair is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marie (McCarthy) Adair; four daughters, Judith Callahan of Lewes, Del., Maureen Adair of Millsboro, Janice Robson and her husband, Daniel, of Middletown, Del., and Kathleen Adair of Middletown; two grandchildren, Scott Robson and Mallory Robson; two sisters, Bernadette Allen of Penndel, Pa., and Dolores Hergert of Rockledge, Pa.; a brother, Paul Adair and his wife, Mary, of Abington, Pa., and his faithful feline companion, Toby.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, Del., where friends and family may call after 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
