Janice Lee Allison, 67, of Millsboro, Del., was called home to be with the Lord, passing away on Aug. 5, 2016, while in the care of Regal Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hockessin, Del. She was born March 4, 1949, in Lewes, Del., to the late L. Layton Boyce and Jeannette (Collins) Boyce.

Allison attended John M. Clayton School in Frankford, Del., then went on to obtain her high school diploma later in life, something of which she was very proud. She held numerous jobs over the years before retiring to become a fulltime homemaker.

She was devoted to her family, and they remain devoted to her. She held a great fondness of all holidays and enjoyed them to the fullest, decorations included. In her shed, she had something for everything, including Groundhog Day.

Allison loved movies, reading, laughing, chatting, spending time with her family and singing everywhere, especially in a church pew with a good hymn. She held a deep admiration for Elvis and was a huge fan.

Her warmth, compassion, kindness, generosity, sweetness and ability to give gentle advice and guidance earned her the admiration and respect of everyone she knew. Allison loved to be there for, and help, anyone and everyone, simply because that’s who she was and will always be: a kind soul. She was far more than a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt or friend. As her children emphatically stated, “She was the glue that held us all together.” She is greatly missed and loved.

In addition to her parents, Allison was preceded in death by her sister, Becky Boyce, in 2013. She is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Henry Lee Allison; three cherished children, Dawn Scott and her husband, Steve, of Melbourne, Fla., Melissa “Missy” Buck and her husband, John, of Dagsboro, Del., and Jerry Franklin of Delmar, Del.; four adored siblings, Robert Boyce and his wife, Patsy, of Dagsboro, Faye Shockley and her husband, Johnny, of Selbyville, Del., Eben Boyce of Dagsboro, and Brian Boyce and his wife, Sandy, of Dagsboro; seven treasured grandchildren, Shawn Scott, James Buck and his wife, Sue, Brent Scott, Jordan Buck, Jacque Buck, Samuel Franklin and J.B. Buck; and an extended family of beloved nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

A viewing and visitation will be held Aug. 11, 2016, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Del., with the Rev. Robert Boyce officiating. Interment is to follow at Dagsboro Redmen Memorial Cemetery in Dagsboro, Del. Floral tributes are welcome. Condolences may be sent online at www.watsonfh.com.
