Aileen Timmons, 90, of Millsboro, Del., passed away in the care of her family on July 25, 2016, at her home. She was born Oct. 25, 1925 in Milton, Del., to the late Arthur B. Donovan and Amy Ellingsworth Donovan.
Timmons was married to Atwood Timmons, who passed away in 2015. She lived a very abundant life and was retired after working as a cafeteria manager for the Indian River School District. After her retirement, she was very active in support of the VFW District 4 Honor Guard and was a member of VFW Post 7442 Auxiliary. She raced go-karts, loved horse racing and was a very lovely person who was outgoing and friendly to all. She especially loved the kids at school.
Timmons is survived by her two children, Atwood R. Timmons III of Millsboro, and Victoria Carey and her husband, Fred, also of Millsboro; two sisters, Ima Jean Spencer and Ester Reynolds, both of Milton, Del.; a grandchild, Erin; and three great-grandchildren, Noah, Bella and Ayden; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members; and many friends.
Viewing, visitation and funeral service were scheduled for Aug. 3, 2016, at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, Del., officiated by the Rev. Tim Wilson of the Milton Wesleyan Church, with interment at Millsboro Cemetery.
